Magical Tidbits…

  • Favorite Disney Memory I have many favorite memories, but my all time favorite involves my 4 year old and a couple princesses.  We had just finished dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table when we decided to pay both Tiana and Rapunzel a little visit. While Ava is a Disney princess at heart, at the age of 4 she wasn’t quite ready for all the hugs. As we made our way into the meet and greet and the door opened, there stood Rapunzel and Tiana. Eyes wide open. It was just us and them.

When the princesses saw Ava (dressed as Cinderella) they came running. Ava wanted none of it. She was the only kid in the whole room, had two princesses all to herself, and she chose to hide?!? How could this be?! That was, until Rapunzel decided to outwit Ava…. she was going to turn our meet and greet into a game. Hide and Seek, Ava’s favorite, Pascals too! Rapunzel started counting and Tiana started running. Ava quickly caught on and the rest is history. The pure joy, and giggles and laughter that came out of Ava when Rapunzel took Ava by the hand and they found Tiana behind the tapestry are forever in my heart. We had our first magical moment. The pictures and video of Ava sandwiched between two princesses after a quick game of Hide and Seek are forever. It was “The Bees Knees!” To properly quote Tiana.

  • Must Do There are so many must dos throughout the Disney parks. Do not miss the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom. It happens once a day and it is the best way to see many of your favorite characters. Nowhere else will you see Peter Pan and Wendy flying high, cannons booming and Ariel flip her fins in a clam shell and fish rolling by. Keep an eye out for Maleficent and her breathing. My favorite parade tip: when looking at the castle, park yourself on the right side of the parade path in the round-a-bout (where the stature of Walt & Mickey are)… every picture you take will have Cinderella's castle as your backdrop. Simply Magical!

  • Favorite Time to Travel I love Springtime at Disney with early March and early May being my favorite months. Not only is the weather perfect, but my favorite festival, The Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot, is in full bloom! You do not want to miss this festival! The topiaries of your favorite characters are stunning and scattered throughout the park, in the evening they are lit… hands down the best food and drinks can be found at the World Showcase. You could easily spend the day just walking laps, eating, and sipping! Don’t miss the Grey Goose Orange slush in France! You’re Welcome!

  • Favorite Quick Service spot Saultii Canteen, in Pandora at Animal Kingdom. The bowls are fabulous, fresh, and exciting. Plus, you can’t beat the views of the floating islands of Pandora.  Pick a shaded outdoor spot and do yourself a favor and grab one of the Night Blossom frozen concoctions in the hut across the way! Delicious! Nomad Lounge is also a hidden gem not to be missed at Animal Kingdom.

  • Favorite Character Dining Where else can you meet your favorite Disney princesses and dine in a castle? Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom is a truly special experience. I always try to grab an early reservation. This allows you to get into the park a little earlier than normal. Nothing beats walking down Main Street USA,  just barely starting to buzz, smells of popcorn blooming. I am able to catch pictures of my little girls dressed as their favorite princess without the crowds. Walking into the Castle never gets old. Seeing Cinderella, waiting for your hug and being welcomed as a guest in her castle is pure love! Look for Jack and Gus… they are high up watching the excitement. Enjoy this special meal and have your sharpies and cameras ready... Princess love is coming your way!

  • Favorite Spot to Capture a Magical Photo It’s not super hard to find a great picture spot when you are at Walt Disney World.  The resorts and parks are practically made for photo worthy poses. Definitely reach out to the PhotoPass photographers (wearing vests- they are all over the place) and request, Magic Shots! This is all part of Memory Maker - Disney’s photo service.  It is so much fun when you pull up your pictures and find that some of your favorite characters have magically photo-bombed! Take some time following the paths around the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. You will catch some amazing pictures!
