Magical Tidbits…

  • Favorite Disney Memory Oh gosh where do I even start?? Growing up I have very strong memories around the old Polynesian lobby and going to ‘Ohana for dinner. One trip when one of my sisters and I were old enough my parents let us go to Epcot alone to ride Test Track which just opened. The wait was several hours long and we got back to our room well past the time we were told to be back. We blamed it on the monoral breaking down but forgot you could see the monorail right outside our room. As an adult, being able to watch the Electric Water Pageant and the fireworks from our balcony with a glass of wine is really hard to beat. But I also remember the first time I got to hug a character again after Covid and I broke down in tears because I was so happy.

  • Must Do I love trying new restaurants and lounges! It is my goal to hit every single one on Disney property which is quite the task! But I have my favorites. I am lucky enough to live relatively close to Orlando and my husband and I always drive and get up really early to be at Disney by lunch and our first stop is always Polite Pig at Disney Springs for an excellent lunch and drink. If you’re a smaller party, always try to find seats at the bar. At Animal Kingdom “rope drop” Nomad Lounge. And for that matter just rope drop the parks- you can ride at least 3 rides with little to no wait before 10am.

  • Favorite Time to Travel There is no bad time to visit Disney. In the Fall you have Halloween decorations and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Around the holidays the parks become even more magical with Christmas decorations- you can spend an entire day visiting just the resorts to see the lobby Christmas tree! Weather and crowd wise my favorite time to visit is late February to early March, early May, and the week after Thanksgiving.

  • Favorite Quick Service Can I do this by park?? At Animal Kingdom if you want to feed a family for a great price you can’t beat Flame Tree BBQ all of the entrees can easily be split and the food is really good. At Hollywood Studios you have to get a Ronto Wrap- even the vegan option is delicious! Epcot is like picking your favorite child but if you go during a festival just snack and drink around the world!

  • Favorite Character Dining Oh hands down this is Toppolino’s. The food is really good and the restaurant is on the smaller side so the characters will come around more frequently and spend a lot of time with you. Last time we were there Donald tried to claim workers comp on Mickey because he brushed past him. It was a whole scene. It doesn’t matter if you’re a kid or an adult there is something really special about character dining and it can’t be missed.

  • Favorite Spot to Capture a Magical Photo I know where ALL the ride photos are and even what side you need to turn. My husband and I plan out what facial expression or pose we will do for each picture. And I am happy to share all of my secrets when you book your next trip with me! My favorite “magic” shot is as you leave Galaxy’s Edge and go towards Toy Story land. You’ll see a photopass photographer against the wall. If you’re a Star Wars fan be sure to stop here for some really special pictures- and don’t be afraid to ask all the photopass photographers for a Magic Shot you’d be surprised how many are able to do that all over the parks.
